Deputies arrest wanted suspects

On 02-19-2020 Wagoner County Deputies were patrolling the City of Okay when they observed a vehicle violating traffic laws.  Upon attempted contact by Deputy T. Fisher the vehicle fled and proceeded northbound on State Highway 16.  Wagoner County K-9 Deputy M. Lott and his partner Edo assisted Deputy Fisher.  The vehicle continued North on Highway 16 until it reached the intersection of Highway 16 and Southeast 13th Street in the City of Wagoner. The driver of the vehicle failed to negotiate the curve and exited the roadway, crashing into the railroad arm. The driver exited the vehicle and ran north.

A female passenger located in the vehicle was identified as Christian Martin.  Wagoner County Dispatch confirmed a felony warrant for her through Oklahoma County.  She was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Wagoner County Detention Center.

Wagoner County Deputies, Wagoner Police, and U.S. Marshall Service searched for the suspect in the area.  A short time later Deputies received information from a resident in 1100 Block of South Madison of a male subject knocking on the back door, asking to come in. The resident advised the male they were calling the police and the male then ran west from the back of the residence.  At that time Wagoner County K-9 Deputy D. Watkins and his partner Bane joined the search to apprehend the suspect.

 

Deputy Lott and his K9 partner Edo tracked west from the residence and located Kodiak in the parking lot of GatorHyde.  Deputies Lott and Watkins attempted to take the suspect into custody, at which time he resisted and kicked K-9 Edo in the face.  Deputies Lott, Watkins, and K-9 Edo took the suspect into custody after a brief struggle.  The suspect identified as Kodiak Mayo was taken into custody and transported to Wagoner Hospital for medical clearance.  The United States Marshall Service placed a hold on Kodiak He is currently in the Wagoner County Detention Center and is being charged with the following:

  1. failure to maintain lane
  2. attempting to elude while endangering others
  3. resisting arrest
  4. assault and battery on a police dog.
