Able checks result in large attendance at training
On 01-08-2020 multiple law enforcement agencies conducted alcohol compliance checks in Wagoner County. After every contact, Agents handed out flyers about attending the Responsible Beverage Service and Sales Training.
The training is offered free of charge to the public and instructed by the Region #5, Regional Prevention Coordinator, Terri Garrett. This grant is funded by ODMHSAS and SAMHSA. Responsible Beverage Service and Sales Training teaches cashiers, servers, managers and store owners about proper ID checking practices, how to spot a fake ID, how to comply with Oklahoma laws covering the sale and service of alcoholic beverages and the risks associated with violating such laws.
As a result of the compliance checks over 45 business owners and individuals attended the Responsible Beverage Service and Sales Training held at the Wagoner Civic Center on 01-14-2020. Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott stopped by to speak to the group and to thank them for attending the training. Attending this training ensures the businesses are up to date on the laws governing their establishment.
