Deputes assist motorist

09/03/2019

On 8-24-19 Wagoner County Deputy F. Holycross was ending his shift for the day when he observed a disable disabled vehicle on the side of the road in the area of State Highway 51 and The Muskogee Turnpike.

Deputy Holycross made contact with the driver of the vehicle and discovered he had run out of gas. Deputy Holycross requested the assistance of Wagoner County Deputy A. Ballard to help get the driver back on his way. Deputy Holycross gave Deputy Ballard his debit card to go pay for gas for the citizen. A short time later Deputy Ballard returned with the gas can and both deputies got the driver back on the roadway.  The driver was also provided water, due to the temperatures.

Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott stated “I am proud of these deputies for the selfless acts they perform day in and day out.  Every deputy in this department can tell you a story of another deputy performing a kind act.  My deputies endless pursuit of doing positive things like is just another reason why I enjoy being the Wagoner County Sheriff.”
