Sheriff Chris Elliott sworn in for his 2nd term as Wagoner County Sheriff
On 01-04-2021 Sheriff Chris Elliott was sworn in for his 2nd term as Wagoner County Sheriff. Sheriff Elliott is a republican currently serving as Wagoner County's 22nd Sheriff. Chris Elliott was re-elected Sheriff for his 2nd term on June 30th, 2020, securing 73.85% of the total vote in a two-way republican primary.
Sheriff Elliott previously worked for the Tulsa Police Department for 27 years and for 8 of those years, worked as the Recruit Training Coordinator with the Tulsa Police Academy. Sheriff Elliott and his wife Judy have lived in Wagoner County for over 20 years, where they have raised their children and now their grandchildren are being raised.
Sheriff Elliott started with the Tulsa Police Department in 1989. In his 27 years at TPD, he never had a sustained complaint. Sheriff Elliott attended East Central University and holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice Degree. He also holds an Advanced Oklahoma Peace Officer certification, CLEET Instructor, Standard Field Sobriety instructor, Advanced Accident Investigator, as well as a Field Training Officer. Sheriff Elliott has numerous letters of commendation and is a recipient of the Tulsa Police Medal of Valor.
Sheriff Elliott will continue to build relationships with other Local, State, Tribal, and Federal law enforcement agencies to ensure the best quality service to all citizens of Wagoner County. He has established and will continue a responsible fiscal policy for the Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Elliott will continue to work with the Board of County Commissioners to ensure County money is spent responsibly. Sheriff Elliott and Deputies will continue working hard to remove the flow of drugs into our county by working with other agencies, education of our youth, and additional Law Enforcement tactics.
Sheriff Elliott has placed the core values of the Sheriff's Office as Ethics, Character, Integrity, and Leadership. Sheriff Elliott believes that adhering to these core values will excel the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office in the future.
