Wagoner County Sheriff's Office investigating animal cruelty case

The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office was notified that Oklahoma Alliance for Animals is now offering a $1000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual that committed this crime.  If you have any information about this case please call the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office at 918-485-3124.

 
On 11-06-2020 at 1330 hours Wagoner County Deputy E. Patrick and Investigator B. Noble were dispatched to 32000 Block of East 690 Road in the Rocky Point area regarding possible animal cruelty.
 
Upon deputies arrival they contacted the reporting party. He advised deputies that he walked outside and heard a cat crying. Upon locating the injured animal, he observed that the cat had an arrow impaled through his front shoulders. The arrow that penetrated the animal had no tip, adding to the suffering. He attempted to contact the owner with no success. He then contacted the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office and advised Wagoner County E-911 Dispatch of the situation.
 
Due to the cat's injuries, local veterinarians were called for possible treatment. Pryor Veterinarian Clinic South was contacted and stated they would assist the Sheriff's Office and treat the injured animal. Inv. Noble transported the cat to the clinic for treatment as Deputy Patrick continued to attempt contact the owner of the cat with no success. Deputy S. Parrish arrived a short time later and deputies began to canvas the area for the suspect that injured the animal. After visiting neighboring residences for potential leads on a suspect, deputies received no further information.
 
On 11-07-2020 Deputy Patrick was able to contact the owner via cell phone and was able to obtain an update of the cat's condition. The owner stated he will be able to pick up Elvis the cat on Monday and there were no major organs hit by the arrow. The arrow impaled the cat hitting only muscle and tissue.
 
At this time, the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office has no further information on who may have shot and injured the cat.
