Wagoner County Sheriff's Office, RPC, Think Smart Oklahoma team up for Project Safe Solutions

Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott is pleased to announce that the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office has partnered with Terri Garrett, the Regional Prevention Coordinator (RPC) Director for Region 5 and Think Smart Oklahoma to provide medication lockboxes for Wagoner County citizens. The new consortium established Project Safe Solutions for Wagoner (PSSW) which will serve as the local "Hands and feet," for Think SMART Oklahoma's media campaign to raise awareness of Safe Solutions that are freely available to protect citizens across the Cherokee Nation Reservation.
Regional Prevention Coordinator (RPC) director, Terri Garrett stated "Partnering with Sheriff Elliott and the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office will greatly benefit Wagoner County Citizens. This program will allow the citizens to receive these lock boxes to secure medication, ensuring any medication is not accessed by unauthorized individuals and this is at NO cost to the citizens."
RPC-Region 5 and Think SMART Oklahoma has donated 1,000 portable lockboxes to Community Environment Enhancement and Development Corporation (CEEDC) and WCSO to give out to members of the community. Currently in these pressing times the poison control has reported a record number of call volume since to Covid-19.
Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott stated, "This is another way we can assist our citizens by working towards reducing calls in Wagoner County and provide residents with a safer solution to store medication."
Each Wagoner County Deputy will carry a supply of lockboxes in their patrol cars to hand out to the public. The Lockboxes are free to citizens so if you need a lockbox just inquire with a Wagoner County Deputy and they can provide you one free of charge!
Think SMART Oklahoma Founder Coleman Cox stated "We are delighted to expand upon existing efforts with our coalition partners in Wagoner County. Protecting our future is of paramount importance to the Cherokee People. Project Safe Solutions for Wagoner (PSSW) was created by Region 5- Regional Prevention Coordinator (RPC) director, Terri Garrett, who has partnered with a local Wagoner Coalition, Community Environment Enhancement and Development Corporation (CEEDC), Think SMART Oklahoma and the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office for Project Safe Solutions for Wagoner.
