Murder suspect trial concludes with conviction
The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office along with Wagoner County District Attorney Jack Thorp and his prosecution team have successfully obtained a conviction Cody A Thompson for a 2017 Homicide that occurred in the Jackson Bay Area. Sheriff Elliott has followed and assisted with this case to ensure that the family in this case received the closure they deserved.
In January 2017, Wagoner County Investigators were called out to investigate and after 3 years, it has resulted in the conviction of a murderer. Cody A. Thompson was found Guilty and will be sentenced to Life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Additionally, he was handed a maximum sentence of 7 years for Desecration of a Human Corpse. The second suspect, Joshua Herrington plead guilty to this crime in June of 2018. He plead In Concert with Cody Thompson. He received a life sentence for his role in this crime.
