EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Position: Wagoner County Jail Admin Secretary / Records Clerk

Job Description:  The Jail Admin Secretary / Records Clerk works directly under the supervision of the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy.  Duties include performing general office and clerical work of moderate difficulty within the Sheriff's Office or Detention Center.

Salary range:  $2,500.00 monthly

Duties and Responsibilities:  Data Entry. Prepares reports for the public and other agencies. Answers phones, routes calls, grant writing, website data input, provides basic information when requested. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Expectations:

  1. Communicate effectively verbally and in written form via telephone and other means of public contact.
  2. Receives, sorts, files and retrieves forms, mail and other types of documents.
  3. Performs basic clerical and office procedures.

Experience: General office experience preferred, with any combination of education, training and/or experience which demonstrates the potential to perform the duties of the positions.

Education: High school diploma or GED

Other Skills: Working knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic, punctuation and grammar; office practices and procedures; report preparation and typing; filing and records maintenance, the operation of various office equipment; general understanding of policies and procedures. Control and maintenance of filing/record systems, ability to enter, compile and prepare data reports, accurate in complex proofreading, working knowledge of keyboard device, data processing systems. Ability to make computations with speed and accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT WITH THE WAGONER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:  All persons applying for employment with the Sheriff's Office shall be required to meet the following general qualifications: integrity, ethics, leadership, honesty, dependability, thoroughness, character, good judgment, initiative and courtesy. All persons will be required to complete a thorough background investigation to include, but not limited to polygraph, psychological and physical fitness test. All persons must successfully pass a drug screen.  All persons must successfully complete a minimum six-month probation period. All persons must be a U.S. Citizen.  Where the position requires the operation of a motor vehicle, the applicant must have a valid Oklahoma Driver's license
