The project’s completion gathering was held
on 10-17-2026, at the Highland Creek HOA clubhouse in Broken Arrow. His dedication helped turn a
difficult situation into an opportunity for accountability and growth. What makes this effort especially meaningful
is the way the entire community came together. The HOA, parents, neighborhood
residents, and our deputies all had a role in making this project possible. The suspect refused to comply and remained barricaded inside the residence.

After determining that the suspect was a Tribal Citizen, the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Police and its Special Response Team (SRT). It can happen in any
community and affect individuals regardless of age, background, or
circumstance.

For the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office, awareness is more
than a message, it is part of our ongoing commitment to protecting victims,
responding to reports of domestic violence, identifying situations where there
may be an elevated risk of harm, and connecting individuals with resources that
can help them move toward safety.

Our work in this area was highlighted in 2025 when the
Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office was recognized as the #1 agency in Oklahoma for
providing lethality screenings to victims and survivors. Lethality screenings
are an important tool used to identify factors associated with an increased
risk of serious injury or death and can help connect victims with appropriate
safety planning and support.

That recognition represents the dedication of our deputies
and staff and the importance of working alongside community organizations that
serve victims and survivors. Addressing domestic violence requires more than
one agency, it takes law enforcement, advocates, service providers, families,
friends, neighbors, and community members working together.

If you are experiencing domestic violence, you do not have
to face it alone.
